Environmental Science students explored the Aquarium of the Pacific with Ms. Ko. Students participated in a squid dissection and learned more about the King Fisher bird that is extinct in the wild.
Titans Boys Basketball Team once again faced off against Stern MASS faculty and alumni in the annual Clash of the Titans. This year’s edition was held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the CSULA Eagle’s Nest, where students, parents and staff members were able to attend this annual tradition. The student section provided a great home court advantage for the boys basketball team as they claimed a 73-48 victory over the teachers.
The Reagan Library opened a new learning experience, called the Situation Room, and our students were the first to participate. Students role-played a simulation based on a crisis in a replicated White House Situation Room. Students had multiple roles, including White House Press Speaker, news anchors, researchers, and the press. The experience allowed all students to make on demand, crucial decisions that had possible real life implications to understand the importance of governmental decisions.
All juniors and seniors took their official ACT exam on September 27th as part of the national in-school ACT administration window. Colleges require students to take the ACT or SAT as part of their application process. Having this learning experience as part of our instructional day supports our continual focus of access to college.
